The headline addressed Guerlain's need to find a new audience for their oldest perfume. The strategy was to update Shalimar as the perfume for a modern woman who is dependent on no man, yet still desirous of a romance in which she could be an equal partner. Shortly after this ran, Guerlain awarded WWS their $100 million worldwide account.
